| Here is a view of Rob's rack, built by Vinnie at Rackmount Concepts. The rig is split into 2 sections - the "Digital" section on top and the "Rockman" section below - see the spacer labels. Rob chose to put the Rockman below as his settings are more or less 'permanent' and he doesn't need to tweak these as much. The Rockman section (all beautifully refurbished by David!) consists of both Sustainors 100 and 200, each looped individually to EQs, followed by a post Sustainor EQ, Smart Gate, Chorus Delay, Stereo Echo, Stereo Chorus, all controlled by 2 Midi Octopus' with a Midi Controller. Imagine this chain of analog devices without a hint of noise! The "Digital" section consists of a Roland GP16, Ibanez DUE 400 and 2 Ashley Digital parametric EQs for even more sound shaping. |

| All of this equipment is housed in Rob's mini studio - note the acoustic foam. The gear is powered by 4 Furman Power/Light Modules. Both sections can be output to either a Yorkville PA or switched to a Fender Deluxe and Mesa-Boogie Combo amp in stereo - just by a hit on the midi pedal using the Rockman Dual Remote! Great stuff and very versatile! To facilitate recording, Rob generally records direct into an Akai DPS 16! The rockman sound is captured digitally on the internal hard drive and after mixing, is transferred to CD. Other pictures show some of Rob's guitar collection - notice the leaning towards vintage Gibsons and Fenders! |
